After Completing Restoration Works … Opening the Real Estate Directorates in Both Ma'arat Al-Nu'man and Saraqib in Idlib
After completing full restoration and rehabilitation works in partnership with UNHCR, GOPA-DERD’s team inaugurated the Real Estate Directorates in both Ma’arat al-Nu’man and Saraqib in Rural Idlib.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Taher Shehadeh Director of Real Estate Interests in Idlib; Mr. Mustafa Al-Hussein Director of Finance in Idlib; Mr. Kifah Ja’afar Director of the Ma’arat al-Nu’man District; Mr. Ali Al-Ali Director of Real Estate Interests in Saraqib; and a delegation from UNHCR led by Mr. William Ngize, Senior Field Coordinator at the UNHCR office in Aleppo.
During the opening, the restoration and rehabilitation works implemented by GOPA-DERD team were reviewed. These works enabled the two damaged buildings to return to service, included a comprehensive package of structural repairs, upgrading sanitary and electrical networks, and equipping both buildings with solar energy systems to ensure continuous power supply and uninterrupted service delivery to citizens.
These projects confirm the importance of rehabilitating government buildings to ensure the provision of basic services to citizens, and to contribute to driving local recovery. They are also an important step towards reactivating the services of the Real Estate Departments and enabling residents of Maaret al-Numan and Saraqeb to obtain data on their real estate properties locally, without having to travel to Idlib city.
