To enable farmers to pump river water and irrigate their lands… GOPA-DERD team implements and distributes mobile pumps in Rural Hama

GOPA-DERD’s “KAMEH” project team completed the implementation of 6 mobile vehicles carrying solar-powered pumps, and distributed them in the villages of Qalaat al-Madiq, al-Tuwaini and al-Sharia in Hamah, in cooperation with Caritas Austria.

These mobile pumps will help farmers pump river water and use it to irrigate their lands in any location and at all times of the year, using solar energy in light of the scarcity of other energy resources.

About 140 farmers will benefit from these pumps, after they were previously provided with drip irrigation networks and water tanks, so that the inputs provided are integrated and achieve sustainability in their agricultural work.
