Several levels of response to the fires in Rural Latakia

Embodying the slogan Faith in actions, GOPA-DERD’s team is providing an emergency response to the fires that broke out in the northern countryside of Latakia, this is done by preparing a medical point that includes doctors from various specialties to treat cases of suffocation and burns, in addition to treating all emergency cases through medications available within the medical point.

On the front lines of the disaster response, the team provided assistance to firefighters and civil defence in extinguishing the fires.

The team also distributed civil defense equipment and tools, including personal protective firefighting suits, boots, water hoses, thermal leather gloves, refrigeration and food storage supplies. In addition, meals were provided to personnel in the area

In turn, the medical team conducted regular visits to Civil Defense points to treat burns and suffocation cases. In addition, essential supplies are distributed, such as eye drops, goggles, and towels to mitigate the effects of heat.
