At the Invitation of Partner DKH: GOPA – DERD in Germany, and the ‎Key Humanitarian, Political, and Social Issues on the Agenda

GOPA-DERD management concluded a high-level advocacy visit to Germany at the invitation of its partner Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).

During the visit, the delegation met with key stakeholders including representatives of the German Federal Foreign Office, DKH senior leadership, German parliamentarians, leading journalists, and the Head of the MENA Unit at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.

Across all meetings, GOPA-DERD highlighted the urgent needs of Syrian communities, the funding gaps affecting humanitarian operations, and the importance of localisation, sustainable support, and protecting principled humanitarian action.

This visit marks an important step in strengthening partnerships and amplifying advocacy for Syrians in need, focusing on three important levels: Humanitarian, political and social.
