The Humanitarian Rresponse Continues in both As-Sweida and Daraa
In continuation of providing humanitarian support and alleviating the suffering of affected families in both Daraa and As-Sweida governorates, GOPA-DERD’s team, distributed a number of various kits.
In As-Sweida, GOPA-DERD’s team, in cooperation with DKH, distributed more than 310 hygiene kits to families returning to the city.
The team also distributed various NFI kits to 150 families, including mattresses, blankets, rugs, kitchen supplies, lighting equipment, and domestic gas supplies, contributing to improving living conditions and meeting the basic needs of these families.
As part of its support for the health sector in the governorate, GOPA-DERD’s team, in cooperation with Samaritan’s Purse, and in coordination with the Directorate of Health, distributed three shipments of medicines and medical supplies to hospitals in Sweida, Shahba, and Salkhad, aiming to enhance their capacity to respond to medical needs amidst the current challenges.
The team also distributed 3,500 assorted kits to affected families, including food, hygiene products, winter supplies, and heating materials.
In an effort to expand the scope of the relief campaign in light of the increasing needs of those arriving from the As-Sweida Governorate to Rural Daraa, GOPA-DERD’s team in Daraa distributed food and hygiene kits, in the areas of Busra al-Sham, Ma’araba, Samad, Jamrin, Kahil, Da’el, Abtaa, Al-Malihiya al-Sharqiya and al-Gharbiya, Busr al-Harir, Nahta, and Rakham. In addition, garbage containers, carts and equipment to sanitation workers were distributed in Busra al-Sham, al-Musmiya and Ghabaghib to promote public hygiene.
GOPA-DERD’s team in Daraa, had also distributed 2016 food kits to displaced families in the areas of Al-Maliha Al-Gharbiya, Al-Maliha Al-Sharqiya, and Busr Al-Harir in rural Daraa. This took place with support from SHF.
