Initiatives embodying “Faith in Action” coinciding with the 31st anniversary of the establishment of GOPA-DERD

As part of humanitarian initiatives coinciding with the 31st anniversary of the establishment of GOPA-DERD, the team in As-Sweida visited more than ten villages in the governorate’s rural areas, and distributed 12,000 bundles of bread to displaced and affected families.

The team had previously assisted workers at the central bakery in Al-Qurayya in baking and preparing the required quantities before delivering them to the residents.

In Daraa, GOPA-DERD,s “Beituna” Center’s team, implemented a volunteer initiative that included honoring sanitation workers in appreciation of their fruitful efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of the environment and the community.

The team also organized a field visit to a number of elderly people to check on their health and provide them with necessary medical care. During the visit, some medical examinations were conducted, such as measuring blood pressure and blood sugar levels. In addition, a symbolic and meaningful gifts were presented.

In turn, GOPA-DERD,s team in Deir ez-Zor organized various and recreational activities at Al-Amal Center, part of the Syrian Foundation for the Treatment and Care of Children with Cancer.

These activities included distributing gifts to children receiving treatment at the center.
