GOPA-DERD in the US Congress to Discuss Enhancing Humanitarian Aid to Syria

Upon invitation of its global partner Oxfam, GOPA-DERD visits Washington to conduct Congressional educational meetings alongside Oxfam America with regards to recent aid cuts that have had significant negative impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands already vulnerable communities, due to the 14 years old crisis. GOPA-DERD met with members of US Congress, US Senate, House of Representatives and Foreign Office Committees to shed light on the negative impacts of the aid cuts, the possible long term negative consequences and discussed possible solutions, while shedding light on the current Syrian contextual update and the pivotal moment for the US to potentially provide its usual support to help with the recovery of Syria and its people.
