Coinciding with international days and holidays ... Variuos activities implemented by our team in many regions during the month of April
In celebration of some international days in April, GOPA-DERD’s team implemented various activities and awareness sessions in various regions.
In Daraa and on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, and in a step to raise awareness on how to deal with children who suffer from autism, GOPA-DERD’s Community Center’s team, implemented a physical and recreational activity for 10 autistic children with their caregivers. This took place in cooperation with UNHCR.
On the occasion of International Day for Mine Awareness, our team in Izraa, Daraa, conducted an awareness session for 20 children about the remnants of war, their locations, and how to report them. The session included the display of photos and informational brochures.
GOPA-DERD’s team, also implemented various activities, on the occasion of World Health Day.
In Daraa, to promote public health, GOPA-DERD’s Community Center’s team organized a field visit to the Family Care Center, aiming to deliver positive messages to the center’s health workers. In addition, awareness sessions and interactive dialogues were implemented by our team for a number of people about the meaning of World Health Day and ways to maintain physical and mental health.
In turn, GOPA-DERD’s Community Center’s team in Izraa, Daraa, conducted several awareness sessions and field visits to elderly residents to check on their health. This took place in cooperation with UNHCR.
In As-Sweida, GOPA-DERD’s “Beituna” Center’s team implemented an awareness-raising activity for more than 100 women in the village of Malah.
The activity included an awareness session on chronic diseases and proper ways to take medications correctly. In addition, some recreational activities were implemented to highlighting on the issue of psychological stress and ways to control it. This took place in cooperation with NCA.
Under the slogan “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”, GOPA-DERD’s team in Deir ez-Zor implemented various recreational activities and awareness sessions on the importance of health and how to maintain it, and provided support to overcome stress, which in turn affects physical health. This took place in cooperation with SHF.
On the occasion of World Creativity and Innovation Day, GOPA-DERD’s team, implemented various activities in several areas.
In Homs, with the aim of highlighting on the importance of innovation and encourage out-of-the-box thinking, with a focus on the role of failure as an essential part of the journey to success, GOPA-DERD’s “DARB” Center’s team, organized a youth event for more than 60 young men and women over two days, included interactive theatrical performances and a tour of the most important innovations that initially failed but later became a starting point for great transformations.
Participants also learned about ancient and modern human beings and the innovations of contemporary youth.
In Al-Qusayr, GOPA-DERD team celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day by inviting 50 young men and women to a celebratory event, which included interactive theatrical performances, creative workshops, and other activities that emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation and the crucial role of youth in developing society and building the future.
GOPA-DERD’s “DARB” Center’s team in Lattakia also implemented an awareness-raising activity for a number of young men and women, through which they expressed their profound experiences and renewed identity.
In Al-Hasakah, the team implemented a dialogue session aimed at raising community awareness of the importance of creativity and innovation. This took place in cooperation with UNFPA.
Coinciding with the glorious holiday season GOPA-DERD’s team celebrated both Eid al-Fitr and Easter in a number of regions.
In Aleppo, GOPA-DERD’s “SPACE” Center’s team in both Qadi Askar and Hareitan implemented a recreational activity for women and children. The activity included competitions, physical games, dances, and songs aimed at strengthening social cohesion.
On the other hand, GOPA-DERD’s team in Deir ez-Zor contributed to the installation of a set of children’s games and in a public park, taking into account the availability of safe play areas for children with special needs. This took place in cooperation with DKH.
In celebration of Easter, and under the title “A New Day”, GOPA-DERD’s Community Center’s team in Al-Duwaila, Damascus, implemented a recreational activity for more than 40 children.
The activity included a set of physical games and competitions aimed at increasing focus and awareness, and enhancing the concept of winning and losing. This took place in cooperation with UNHCR.
